The Barrett Havran Memorial Big Taste of Fort Worth is a culinary event you won't want to miss! Local restaurants will prepare a signature dish for our celebrity judges and our guest tasting. Our celebrity judges will decide on Best of Big taste and YOU can help decide this year's Peoples Choice! This year is our 40th annual Big Taste of Fort Worth so we are putting a 40s flair on this night! Enjoy swing dancers, live music from La Pompe and make your way through the amazing dishes prepared by your favorite restaurants including The Capital Grille - Fort Worth, Magdalena's, Helados La Azteca and much more! Make sure you buy your tickets and show up in your favorite 40s inspired fashion for a night full of music, food and fun!

Through your partnership with our Barrett Havran Memorial Big Taste of Fort Worth, you are working with us to empower youth in Tarrant County through high-quality, professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationships.  Because of the continued success of our Barrett Havran Memorial Big Taste of Fort Worth, we have been fortunate enough to continue to respond to our community’s demand for preventative services and educational resources. In 2018 Big Brothers Big Sisters Tarrant County launched our Mentor 2.0 Barrett Havran Legacy Program. This program pairs a mentor with a high school student, where mentoring takes place each week during the school year through our online communication on our proprietary platform complemented with pre-scheduled in person events every 4 to 6 weeks.  Together, through one-to-one mentoring we are increasing the likelihood that our most vulnerable population will achieve educational success, higher aspirations, greater confidence and better relationships, while also avoiding risky behaviors.

Our outcome-based mentoring program continues to make a significant and enduring impact on children’s lives: while the dropout rate for Texas’ children is a shocking 38%, a full 98% of our Tarrant County Littles program were promoted to the next grade level.
